11+ English Booster – February Half Term (3-Day Intensive)
This 3-day English booster is designed for Year 5 pupils (and advanced Year 4 students) preparing for competitive 11+ grammar and independent school entrance exams.
Taking place on February 17th, 18th and 19th from 5:45–7:45 p.m. (online via Zoom), this focused intensive provides structured, exam-style preparation in a supportive but academically rigorous environment.
Each day, students will complete one full 11+ English test paper under timed conditions, followed by detailed live review, model answers, and clear examiner-style guidance.
The course covers advanced comprehension skills including fiction, non-fiction and paired texts, with explicit teaching of all major 11+ question types: inference, vocabulary in context, writer’s purpose, tone and effect, figurative language analysis, structure questions, evidence selection, negative-form questions, and comparative responses.
A strong vocabulary component is embedded throughout. Students will work on high-frequency 11+ vocabulary, root words, prefixes and suffixes, and synonym precision. They will also learn how to decode unfamiliar words under timed conditions and apply stronger vocabulary to improve the quality of written answers.
This booster is designed to sharpen exam technique, improve speed and accuracy, and build confidence ahead of upcoming assessments.

Booking & Payment
• Full payment is required to secure a place.
• Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
• A £5 admin fee applies to online bookings.
• Individual days must be booked directly via email or WhatsApp before payment is made.
Your child’s place is confirmed only once payment has been received.
Refund Policy
• All bookings are final.
• No refunds are offered once a place has been secured.
• No refunds are given for missed sessions, late arrivals, or partial attendance.
As this is a short, intensive course with limited spaces, places are reserved exclusively once booked.
Cancellations & Transfers
• In the unlikely event that the course is cancelled by South Croydon Tutors, a full refund will be issued.
• Bookings are non-transferable to other courses or future terms.
Attendance & Conduct
• Students are expected to arrive on time and remain for the full session.
• Cameras should remain on during Zoom sessions to ensure engagement and safeguarding compliance.
Technical Responsibility
• Parents are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection and access to Zoom prior to the session.
• No refunds will be issued for technical issues on the participant’s side.
Materials
• Course materials are for registered students only and must not be shared, copied or distributed.
