£250.00
Creative Writing Course (Years 4 & 5)
Inspiring young writers to think, plan, and create with confidence
Our 10-week Creative Writing course is designed especially for Years 4 & 5 children preparing for 11+ grammar school and independent school entrance exams. Suitable for all exam boards and styles that include a creative writing element, this course focuses on the fundamentals — not just rehearsing exam titles.
Children will learn how to:
✨ Use 27 different sentence types and punctuation for effect
✨ Expand ideas through planning, word families, and vocabulary growth
✨ Show, not tell — writing vivid descriptions with depth and detail
✨ Adapt to picture prompts, one-line starters, and continuation tasks
✨ Write in different genres: narrative, descriptive, persuasive, discursive, letters, reports, and articles
✨ Approach tasks with confidence, efficiency, and creativity
By the end of the course, your child will:
✔️ Have a mini-portfolio of polished writing pieces

Creative Writing Course Policy
Please read carefully before booking. By enrolling, you agree to the following terms:
1. Course Structure
This is a 10-week structured programme designed to build skills week by week.
It is not a drop-in class — each session builds on the last, so full attendance is strongly recommended.
2. Attendance & Missed Sessions
If a student misses a session, they will still receive the materials and homework tasks for that week.
Due to the group format, sessions cannot be rescheduled or refunded if missed.
Parents are encouraged to help children catch up using the provided resources.
3. Marking & Feedback
Written feedback is included for all set homework tasks.
Feedback will be provided within a reasonable timeframe to ensure progress between sessions.
4. Payment
The full fee (£250) is payable in advance to secure a place.
Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
5. Behaviour & Engagement
Students are expected to participate positively and respectfully in both Zoom and face-to-face settings.
6. Online Safety (for Zoom sessions)
Cameras should remain on during the session so the teacher can monitor engagement.
7. Refunds & Cancellations
As this is a full course, no partial refunds are available once the programme begins.
In the unlikely event that a session is cancelled by the tutor, an alternative date or full refund for that session will be offered.
